Paulo Bispo, PhD


Paulo is originally from São Paulo, Brazil and joined the Gilmore Lab in December of 2013. He received his Master’s degree and PhD in Infectious Diseases from the Federal University of Sao Paulo, Brazil (UNIFESP). During his PhD, he spent one year at the University of Miami Bascom Palmer Eye Institute as a research fellow in the Ocular Microbiology Laboratory. His primary research interests lie in the development of molecular tests for the diagnosis of ocular infectious diseases, surveillance and mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance, biofilm formation in Gram positive organisms and molecular epidemiology of resistant bacteria.
